• Man accused of stealing car ends high-speed chase by jumping into Georgia lake, police say (wsbtv.com) — A Gumlog resident was arrested after an alleged high-speed chase that raced down Gerrard Road and Gumlog Road before ending in a crash near the Lake Hartwell bridge. Authorities say the driver then jumped into the lake trying to escape but was quickly captured with help from multiple agencies and a nearby boater. Charges are being handled by Georgia State Patrol and Hart County deputies.
