• Three dead after tree falls across roadway in Burke County Saturday night (newsnationnow.com) — An 18-year-old from Midville suffered minor injuries when a large tree suddenly fell across Highway 56 South in Burke County on Saturday night, striking his Jeep. A second car hit by the same tree sustained devastating damage, and its three occupants were pronounced dead at the scene as investigators continue to review what happened.
